Well what a way to start to our Mediterranean evening than to have the Mediterranean weather on our side also. It was a warm balmy evening (not your typical Irish weather evening) and we all sat in the garden sipping, nibbling and catching up since our last get-together. Bob was getting V.I.P. treating shortly after we arrived being offered an 18 year old Jemison Whiskey – I tell yah (another ploy for brownie points). Followed by “was it Anne or Pam – Brian can I get you a brandy and coke………..” oh they were starting the evening off on a strong footing alright………
On Anne’s request we were summons to the dining room – a newly appointing dining room I must add for dinner. (Not sure if this was a ploy to score more brownie points…… so long to the boys den – sorry lads - maybe now the come dine is over it will get converted back LMAO)
The meal started with Quiche – (a choice no doubt) of regularly or Salmon and Goats Cheese, with mixed rocket salad, baby tomatoes and HOMEMADE Salad Dressing (did I mention the HOMEMADE Salad Dressing!!!!!!!!!)
We then moved onto the main course which was Pork marinated in 6 ingredients which Pauline guessed the most of – let’s see if I can remember – garlic, apricot, Worchester sauce, Tabasco sauce, ginger and and and………can’t believe I can’t remember the last ingredient – problem something to do with taking so long to update the blog…….. The veggies were done to perfection – wonderful and crisp – wish mine turned out like that – even on occasion….. Potatoes au-gratin but with no garlic just the way the French do them apparently and of course an Irish meal wouldn’t suffice with just one type of potatoes so there were baby potatoes also – yum yum yum.
Desert was a homemade terrine of fresh sieved (I may add) vanilla pods and yogurt with fresh raspberries and strawberries and of course homemade coulee.
At that stage needless to say we were bursting at the seams but the food and drinks still kept flowing……. A cheese platter was presented with many of my favourite cheeses but unfortunately I had to decline (9 months pregnant) followed by Irish and Bailey coffees – what a way to finish off the evening.
It was great catching up with everyone and a most enjoyable evening was had. Thanks again Pam and Anne for a wonderful evening – I truly mean it I enjoyed it immensely.
Finally what we’ve all been waiting for our score ………… 9.5
Looking forward to our next evening and of course hosting our own.

The next gastronomic evening approaches!
The last couple of months have undoubtedly been difficult for many of us however, no finer remedy than to relax and enjoy the company of true friends combined with good food and wine - we are looking forward to the evening and have decided to drop the competitive edge and therefore many of our grandiose plans have been put to one side and simplicity will be our over riding theme for the evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just off now to order the simple flower arrangements!

Who ruffles Annes Truffles
Dear blogger, do you know what my wish is ?,
That Pauline makes more delicious dishes, !!
We may live without ; poetry, music and art,
We may live without conscience - and fart like a tart,
We may live without friends,
We may live without books,
But we cannot live without Pauline - the cook !!!
We sated as she plated dish after dish,
Annes hopes of a win disappeared with a squish,
We could not get enough, I swear - her chicken - nothing could compare,
We epicures were ecstatic, - Paulines win is only fair, !! - ( pardon the pun ),
Dear Pauline, you were full of the milk, ( and wine and beer ) of human kindness, so - may your COFFEE, and any slurs, slights, slagging, or slander , be always the same - without GROUNDS.
PS, at a lot of restaurants I have visited the word WAITER, would more aptly describe me sitting at the table, this was definitely not the case at Chez Pauline,
Life would be COMPLETE, if we could always EAT,
at Paulines !!!.,
Cheers, - BOB. President and sole member of the finer diner club.

Here, fishy fishy
I just ADORE fish and everything from the sea. In fact, I am going fishing tomorrow.!!!!!
Fish supper - especially for Pauline!

Only needed a small line made of string and a large jam jar!
Our Experience at Pauliene's - Come Dine in Lisk
The evening started with the grand tour of the new house. It was like getting a tour of a show house every little detailed was addressed. The showers in both bathrooms were very impressive not to mention the bidet in the master bathroom……… oh and the flat screen T.V’s in every room……….. Dinner went very well – service was excellent and the food was delicious. Soup starter very nice (it even had a nice dollop of cream in it), chicken main course with roasted vegetables and potatoes really good too but the trifle for desert was excellent. Choice of Red wine excellent too. From there we moved into the sitting room for the evening’s entertainment – which was getting a taste of Pauline’s 3D television - talk about show off……… There were nibbles on the table crips, sweets- jelly babies chocolate éclairs etc… The conversation was flowing and the crack was 90ty. The night was a total success excellent food and great company very enjoyable indeed. Here’s hoping the next nite will be as impressive. God only knows what entertainment Pam and Ann have up their sleeves….. Not that Pam is competitive at all………..

it is now the Witches of Lusk!

The voting is becoming serious all sorts of skull duggery are afoot! I think the voting is rigged already!
Bribery with Jelly babies

she is now over heard asking for votes...... oh and the tablecloth that drops everything on to the floor is available in Argos
Required score update

She is not too happy with the score - 3D telly, jelly babies and a tablecloth that the spills just fall off on to the floor! so here is my revised score
First Night of Come Dine in Lusk

Our first evening was spent with our dear neighbour Pauline - she invited the 6 of us over for dinner in her new home. It is great to see her so happy and settled in her new home - it has two showers and she has wonderful neighbours!
Pauline spared no efforts to try and achieve the perfect score this evening - and I am sure my co-diners will add their comments to endorse the fact. So over to them!
