Our Experience at Pam and Anne's Mediterranean Evening

Well what a way to start to our Mediterranean evening than to have the Mediterranean weather on our side also. It was a warm balmy evening (not your typical Irish weather evening) and we all sat in the garden sipping, nibbling and catching up since our last get-together. Bob was getting V.I.P. treating shortly after we arrived being offered an 18 year old Jemison Whiskey – I tell yah (another ploy for brownie points). Followed by “was it Anne or Pam – Brian can I get you a brandy and coke………..” oh they were starting the evening off on a strong footing alright………

On Anne’s request we were summons to the dining room – a newly appointing dining room I must add for dinner. (Not sure if this was a ploy to score more brownie points…… so long to the boys den – sorry lads  - maybe now the come dine is over it will get converted back LMAO)

The meal started with Quiche – (a choice no doubt) of regularly or Salmon and Goats Cheese, with mixed rocket salad, baby tomatoes and HOMEMADE Salad Dressing (did I mention the HOMEMADE Salad Dressing!!!!!!!!!)

We then moved onto the main course which was Pork marinated in 6 ingredients which Pauline guessed the most of – let’s see if I can remember – garlic, apricot, Worchester sauce, Tabasco sauce, ginger and and and………can’t believe I can’t remember the last ingredient – problem something to do with taking so long to update the blog…….. The veggies were done to perfection – wonderful and crisp – wish mine turned out like that – even on occasion….. Potatoes au-gratin but with no garlic just the way the French do them apparently and of course an Irish meal wouldn’t suffice with just one type of potatoes so there were baby potatoes also – yum yum yum.

Desert was a homemade terrine of fresh sieved (I may add) vanilla pods and yogurt with fresh raspberries and strawberries and of course homemade coulee.

At that stage needless to say we were bursting at the seams but the food and drinks still kept flowing……. A cheese platter was presented with many of my favourite cheeses but unfortunately I had to decline (9 months pregnant) followed by Irish and Bailey coffees – what a way to finish off the evening.

It was great catching up with everyone and a most enjoyable evening was had. Thanks again Pam and Anne for a wonderful evening – I truly mean it I enjoyed it immensely.

Finally what we’ve all been waiting for our score ………… 9.5

Looking forward to our next evening and of course hosting our own.
